Stapehill Abbey Porches and Signs

I was excited to be asked to make the oak porches for the prestigious Stapehill Abbey development and to be a part of this stunning project, with such historic importance. The oak was delivered to my workshop and from there, I worked it into beautiful posts, trusses, rafters and porches you can see in the photos. I feel that the oak gives a real warmth and character to the new buildings and helps to link the old and the new. All traditional joints were used ie: pegged mortise and tenon joints.

I made a total of 19 porches, both front and back, in phase 2 of this development. Each porch was slightly different which made this wonderful project even more interesting.
